Le Meridien resort Phuket

A sprawling, luxurious resort on a breathtaking beach in Karon.

Le Meridien resort Phuket is one of those hotels that you will always remember. From the green drive up to the entrance, the airy lobby to the unmissable turquoise blue sea that roars and twinkles as you walk around the resort. It is one of the most established hotels on the island being 33 years old. We stayed here for our 10th Anniversary weekend in July 2021 – the most perfect place to spend it.

The Rooms

Le Meridien resort Phuket has many different rooms on offer. We stayed in 2 connecting, ocean-view rooms on the left side of the hotel. They offered incredible views over the swimming pools and out to the beach. We loved leaving the balcony door open to hear the waves crashing on the beach. Our bed was enormous, one of the biggest and most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The boys had twin beds in their room and a bath tub which is always useful when traveling with kids.

The Pools

Le Meridien resort Phuket has 2 huge swimming pools across the resort. One has a lap pool as well as a shaded kids pool and a splash fountain area. There are many beds around the pool and even a local diving centre that offers diving trials in the lagoon pool.

The Beach

Le Meridien resort Phuket is set on Karon Noi, or little Karon, a typical lush Thai cove surrounded by coconut trees. Golden sand and turquoise sea, simply beautiful. In low season the water was quite rough so we didn’t get to swim unfortunately. However, in high season (Nov-Feb) it would be ideal. Make sure to get to the beach for sunset. The sun goes down to the right of the cove and we saw some gorgeous pink skies.

The Restaurants

Le Meridien resort Phuket has 10 restaurants on-site. They offer a range of different packages but we were on the full board package for our 2 day stay. Even during Phuket Sandbox, once the hotel had only just re-opened after COVID the menu was extensive. There was more than enough choice for us to eat a different lunch and dinner every day and even longer!

The pizzas from the pizza oven were delicious, the pasta dishes and local Thai dishes also amazing. They have a big kids menu with loads of options and desserts that the boys loved too. Would 100% recommend trying the butter chicken, carbonara and basil prawn whilst you’re there.

Breakfast everyday was at Latest Recipe and wow what a spread! The choice was plentiful and delicious. A selection of local food, pancakes, hot western breakfast (bacon/sausages etc), egg station, bakery, juice, cereals and fruit. More food than you can imagine! Our kids LOVE breakfast and eat loads, they gave the breakfast at Le Meridien resort Phuket a big thumbs up!

Kids Club

The kids club at Le Meridien resort Phuket was the best we saw during our time in Phuket. They have a huge kids room with many different toys and games, Playstation and TVs (minimal screen time, parents have to approve). Outside there is an area with a trampoline and small basketball nets and football goals.

They have organised activities each day; cookie decorating, movie time, beach games, painting, fun and games. There is even Muay Thai lessons in the gym with an ex-professional. Brilliant!

Facilities at Le Meridien resort Phuket

Boutique shops line the lobby selling beautiful clothes, jewelry and local wares. There is a salon, a doctor and a huge gym. For activities you can do tennis, squash mini golf, driving range, boules and other fitness activities – the grounds are huge so is an ideal place for a jog too.

Spa at Le Meridien resort Phuket

A calm, relaxing spa offering wonderful massages. We both had a Thai massage as an anniversary treat! We were able to leave the kids at the kids club and they knew where we were if there was any issues. Highly recommend the couples massage, a perfect hour away from the kids to completely switch off.

The hotel went above and beyond for us to celebrate our anniversary leaving a beautiful welcome surprise on the beds. They looked after the kids in the kids club so we could have massages. Also organised an amazing dinner – thank you! Le Meridien resort Phuket is a wonderful family resort that we would highly recommend.

It is ideally located in the middle of the island which makes it easy to visit Patong, Big Buddha do some ATV driving, Karon View Point and take a day trip down to Rawai and Promthep Cape or up to Bang Tao and the Laguna area. If you need a driver when you’re in Phuket, get in touch as I have great one to recommend as well as a local Tuk Tuk driver.
