Location
On the North West of the island only 20minutes from the airport. The Angsana Laguna Phuket is part of Laguna Phuket which spreads over 1000 acres of parkland. Laguna Phuket has 8 hotels, numerous restaurants and bars, a golf club and residences. With all these options it is difficult to find the best hotel in Laguna Phuket but we think we found it!
The Angsana Laguna Phuket is located on Bang Tao beach, one of the biggest beaches in Phuket at 3km. Bang Tao is a gorgeous palm-tree lined bay with wide sands, clear blue sea and incredible sunsets.
The hotel is in a perfect position on the beach. Xana Beach Club which is part of the Angsana Laguna is the ideal place to watch the sunset. However, if you are looking for something different, adjacent to the hotel are many small, traditional beach bars.
A short shuttle bus journey away is the canal village with a few shops, pharmacy and restaurants. The Angsana Laguna has a regular bus service to take you here.
A bit further away (10mins in a tuk tuk) is Cherng Talay town where the popular Boat Avenue is. Here you will find many other bars and restaurants, coffee shops, shops, spas and larger supermarkets. Read our guide on 12 amazing restaurants in Laguna Phuket.
Facilities
The main reason we believe that Angsana Laguna is the best hotel in Laguna Phuket is the facilities. They are simply incredible. Here is a short run down:
Swimming Pool
Not just one pool. There is one long, river like pool snaking around the resort. You will find sunbeds lining the river meaning you can access the pool at the closest area to your room….or the bar! What we also loved about this concept is that it never felt crowded, no lines of people reserving beds as there are so many.
There is also a beach type pool with a sandy floor, volleyball nets and goals next to the pool bar.
Xana Beach Club also has a beautiful pool with sea views.
Kids Club
We love our kids dearly but also love a couple of hours away from them! The kids club at Angsana Laguna Phuket is amazing. There is a huge playground with slides, climbing frames, see-saws etc.
In addition to this, you will find a fun arts and crafts area. They have organised games and clubs, movie nights and indoor activities like PS and TVs.
You can check the kids in and leave them there supervised, they will call you if there are any issues. Happy kids and happy Mum and Dad!
Angsana Phuket Spa
This was hands down the best massage we had during our 5 weeks in Phuket. Another reason why the Angsana is the best hotel in Laguna Phuket.
They have an extensive menu to choose from, I opted for the dream massage and definitely fell asleep! The therapy rooms were so calm and relaxing and the ladies were very knowledgable about each treatment.
We were able to have a couples massage and book the kids into the kids club – absolute bliss!
Water Sports
The Angsana Laguna Phuket is built around a lagoon so there are numerous water activities both here and on the beach. We enjoyed kayaking but there is also paddle boarding and peddle boats which the whole family can go out in together.
In good weather they also offer donut dining where you sit in a donut boat and someone cooks a BBQ for you. A truly special activity.

Pool Suite Room
These rooms are breathtaking. They have a huge living area with a dining room table, sofas and TV.
A kitchen bigger than the one in my house with all the appliances – oven, fridge, microwave, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery and importantly – a coffee machine! Unfortunately it didn’t get used as the Thai food is simply too good!
The 2 bedrooms were ensuite. The master bedroom has a very impressive, giant bath tub. The second bedroom had twin beds and an enormous bathroom.
The highlight of the room of course was the balcony the infinity swimming pool with impressive lagoon views. The balcony also has sunbeds and outdoor furniture with bi-fold doors for an indoor/outdoor living space. Heaven!

Lagoon View Suite
As the name suggests the 2-bedroom lagoon view suite at Angsana Laguna Phuket has incredible views over the lagoon. With a living area, balcony and kitchen with dining table.
The bedrooms are large and both ensuite with their own balconies, a perfect sized room for a family of 4. We loved the traditional furnishings with wooden decor and lots of mirrors.
With such a varied choice of rooms it is easy to see why we have voted Angsana Laguna as the best hotel in Laguna Phuket.

Angsana Phuket has 8 dining options / bars to choose from including the pool bar and beachclub. From Thai, Italian and Western to casual pool bars.
During our visit in July 2021 in the midst of COVID, Xana Beach Club was the only restaurant open for evening meals. Offering a variety of different themed nights as well as the a-la-carte menu which gives more than enough choice. We went back twice for the BBQ (steak) evening as it was so good – melt-in-your-mouth steak. The seafood BBQ was also plentiful and delicious.
We loved the nightly saxophone player serenading with a range of ballads with the sound of waves crashing in the background.
At lunch they offer a range of Thai dishes, we can highly recommend the peek-a-boo fish. It is a traditional Phuket dish of fish cooked in a salt crust. We also enjoyed the crispy pork and noodles and the boys ate chicken fried rice daily.
Make sure to try the ‘big breakfast’ one morning at Xana, a variety of family sharing plates which were huge! Steak and eggs, an omelet and a kind of shakshouka. Dylan and Elis LOVE breakfast so this concept of big family sharing plates was ideal – they cleaned up! You won’t need lunch after this….
Angsana Phuket breakfast is at Market Place. The selection is huge! Plenty of fruit, cereals, pancakes, breads, pastries and cakes, Thai food, hot cooked breakfast and an egg station. You will be absolutely spoilt for choice. Breakfast is the highlight of our boys’ day and they were not disappointed.
Staff are wonderful at remembering your coffee orders and arrive with hot drinks and juice not long after you enter. Enjoy the terrace seating looking out over the lagoon, a perfect start to the day.
Staff at Angsana Laguna Phuket
The staff at this hotel are wonderful. They cannot do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble. The reception staff are very knowledgeable and helpful about the local area and will arrange taxis or transport for you. The service staff in the restaurants remember your names and drink orders. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have a truly memorable stay.
