Sunset in Dubai is simply breathtaking. Watching the sun turn red and drop over the horizon is the perfect end to any day in Dubai. As sunset chasers we are always looking for the best spots to enjoy sunset in Dubai.

1. Go to the Desert for the best Sunset in Dubai
One of our most favourite places to end the day and see a beautiful sunset is in the desert. There is something peaceful yet magical about being surrounded by nature hidden away from everything. Firing up the BBQ, having a cold drink and racing up and down the sand dunes is a family hit.
Desert locations for sunset in Dubai
- Town Square – turn off the Qudra roundabout or park in Town Square and walk around the desert path.
- Mira and Mira Oasis – park at the end of the community and walk over to the desert
- DAMAC 2 – pull in on the side of the road before reaching the community and walk into the desert
- Al Qudra Lakes – Go for a drive up to Al Qudra and pull in around the lake for a tranquil sunset spot.
- Hidden Dubai – A desert cafe close to Al Qudra with a beautiful aesthetic
2. Hit the beach for Sunset in Dubai
We are spoilt in Dubai with so many gorgeous beaches and beach clubs. There is nothing better than ending a day on the beach by watching the sun setting on the horizon. With skies to rival Ibiza sunsets.
Best beaches to watch the sunset in Dubai
- Sunset Beach Dubai – also known as Umm Sequim Beach. There are no facilities or cafes etc but it is not far from Kite Beach. Watch the sun going down next to the Burj Al Arab.
- Kite Beach – A firm favourite with lots of cafes, food trucks and activities for the kids. A public beach open to all where you can watch the sun setting close to the Burj Al Arab.
- JBR Beach – a busy tourist hotspot for sunset Dubai. There are many hotels alongside this beach claiming patches of the beach as private but there is still plenty of public beach available. Offers great views of Ain Dubai or the observation wheel on Bluewaters island.
- Palm West Beach – a trendy area on the Palm Jumeirah Dubai. Full of beach bars, clubs and restaurants. It is a lovely spot to watch the sunset but slightly ruined by the construction of Dubai Harbour. There’s always some construction going on in Dubai!
3. Best beach bars for sundowners Dubai
JBR Beach Bars
- Wavebreaker at Hilton JBR is a sports bar that offers daily happy hours.
- Shimmers is a favourite for sundowners Dubai and it’s easy to see why. A Greek beach bar right next to the Burj Al Arab. It is in the Mina A’Salam hotel, one of the Jumeirah Hotels.
- The One and Only Hotel has a prime location and Drift Beach Club and The Jetty Lounge are two of the best spots for sundowners in Dubai. Drift offers a ladies day on Monday and Tuesday where you can enjoy the beach club for only 75dhs.
- Tamoka is on the beach at the Ritz Carlton Hotel on JBR. It is a Latin American themed beach bar and has a fun vibe.
Palm West Beach Bars
- February 30 – a fun beach bar in the middle of the strip, unmissable by the red and white decor. Delicious food – sushi and bar bites. Can take kids til 9pm.
- Koko Bay – the original beach bar on Palm West with a Bali vibe. Book ahead. Can take kids til 9pm.
- Surf Club – A popular beach bar that has DJs and beach parties into the night.
- Eva Beach House – A gorgeous Tulum-style aesthetic with a pool.
- Kyma Beach – A Greek style +21 beach restaurant and bar at the far end of Palm West Beach
Palm Jumeirah Beach Bars
- White Beach at Atlantis Hotel – a great beach club to spend the day at and then watch the sun go down in the evening.
- Nobu Beach at Atlantis Royal Dubai – a newly opened spot which is a luxurious spot to watch the sun go down on The Palm.
4. Check out the Golf Clubs for amazing sunset views
We love the golf clubs as they are super family friendly, lots of space for little ones to run about. Usually, they have good happy hour deals too, perfect for sundowners.
- The Els Club – never fails to offer a great sunset view over the course. Perfect for family friendly food and sundowners.
- Phileas Fogg – at the Montgomery Golf Club in Emirates Hills watch the sunset over the course and skyscrapers in Media City and the Marina. Perfect family friendly option with happy hours, great food and a kids play area.
- Duck Hook or Hillside Brasserie – both in Dubai Hills Golf Club offer a lovely sunset view with the Burj Khalifa in the background.
- Spikes – sports bar at Emirates Golf Club offers wonderful course and sunset views.
- Maison Mathis and Ranches Restaurant – Arabian Ranches golf club lovely views of the sun setting between the trees overlooking the golf course.
Not a golf club but Dubai Polo Club in Studio City also has a great bar for sundowners overlooking the horse field.
5. Go to the top of the Burj Khalifa for sunset
There’s nowhere with better views that the top of the Burj Khalifa for sunset. You can book a sunset slot to watch the sunset on the city. Or if you are feeling brave there is the option of the Edge Walk at Skyview Address Hotel. If the Edge Walk is not your thing then try the glass slide at Sky View Address Hotel. A glass slide with views of the Burj Khalifa, a pretty special thing to do at sunset.
If you are looking for something more relaxing then book an afternoon tea or drinks at At.mosphere Burj Khalifa the lounge and restaurant at the top of the Burj Khalifa in the Armani Hotel Dubai. The best views in the whole of Dubai.
6. Check out The View at the Palm for sunset in Dubai
Book a Prime Hours slot at The View at the Palm for a 360degree view of the Palm Jumeirah at sunset. Spectacular views at sunset making for a memorable sunset trip.

For the best sunset views in Dubai then out at sea is where you need to be. You will get the full 360degree view and see the sunset around the Atlantis, Ain Dubai, Marina Skyline, Burj Al Arab and view the Burj Khalifa in the background. Unrivaled views!

- Dubai Canal Dhow Dinner Cruise – a great way to see Dubai lit up at night. Board early and check out the sunset views before starting the cruise.
- Yellow Boat Sightseeing Tour – Book a later slot (around 5-6pm) and see Dubai landmarks from the boat whilst watching the sunset.
8. Head to Dubai Creek Harbour for city views
Dubai Creek Harbour is the perfect place for sunset in Dubai. It offers unrivalled views over the skyline of Dubai. There are many restaurants and cafes where you can sit, alternatively just take a walk around and find a bench or a spot to sit. Watch the sunset over the Burj Khalifa.
The Vida Creek Harbour Hotel in Dubai Creek Harbour has a restaurant that is also worth checking out to relax on the terrace and watch the sunset in Dubai.
9. Go to a Rooftop Bar for Sundowners in Dubai
Dubai is full of rooftop bars or outside bars with incredible views over the skyline. We love nothing better than watching the sunset in Dubai with a cocktail and a great view. Here are some of our favourite sunset bars in Dubai.

- Vault Bar at JW Marriott on the 71st and 72nd floor – the tallest hotel in the world.
- Mi Amie at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel – spectacular views of The Museum of the Future
- Monkey Bar at 25 Hours Hotel another great view of The Museum of the Future
- Lolita at Pullman Downtown Hotel with Burj Khalifa views
