Vijitt Resort

The best family resort in Rawai Phuket is the Vijitt Resort Phuket. A tranquil, lush, beach escape in Rawai, south Phuket.

The Vijitt Resort Phuket is one of those memorable hotels that will stay with you. As soon as you enter you are greeted with a jaw-dropping view over what looks like a rainforest leading onto the sea. Immediately in-front of the hotel is the island of Ko Lon outlined by palm trees on the beach. Offering the Thai view straight out of a guidebook. Certainly makes for the best family resort in Rawai Phuket.

The Rooms at Vijitt Resort Phuket

The Vijitt Resort Phuket is set on vast green grounds and all rooms are individual villas. There are 92 villas in total of 5 different types. With variety in size and some even with private pools. We opted for the ‘deluxe’ villa with an extra bed for the kids which was more than enough space for a young family.

The villa itself was huge. In the bedroom is an enormous bed with an extra bed for the kids and a small sofa. Leading off the bedroom is a dressing area with big wardrobes, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. This area enters into a giant bathroom with double sinks. The bath is stunning with wooden shutters overlooking the lush green grounds and an outdoor shower. It acts an additional living space and I think I spent more time in here than in the bedroom!

There is also a gorgeous wooden balcony opening up from the bedroom with a table and chairs. A perfect, calm space for a morning coffee listening to the wildlife waking up around you. The ideal morning start at the best family hotel in Rawai Phuket.

The Pool at Vijitt Resort

A luxurious, turquoise infinity pool looking out directly onto the sea; it is like a postcard. There are steps leading into the pool making it perfect for families in Phuket with little ones who are not yet swimming. Behind the main pool there is a splash pool ideal for babies and toddlers. There are plenty of shaded beds around the pool and down on the beach.

Directly in-front of the pool down a couple of steps is a big grass area with a volleyball net. However, our boys had a great time playing football here as there was loads of space for the kids to freely run around. Having lots of space for little ones is important when choosing the best family hotel in Rawai Phuket.

Kids Club at Vijitt Resort

Another reason why this is the best family resort in Rawai Phuket is the kids club! There is a fantastic kids club at Vijitt Resort Phuket which appeals to kids of all ages. They have an indoor room with a ball pit, toys, books and movies which our boys enjoyed – hiding under the ball pit seemed to entertain them for hours!

They also offer organised activities like arts and crafts which you can book the children into. Outside they have a big playground area which was ideal for my boys who loved running around. There is even a small swimming pool. You can leave the kids supervised and go back and collect them later – perfect for sneaking off for a massage!

The Spa

The spa at Vijitt Resort Phuket was a very calm, relaxing space. They have a great massage menu and offer a wonderful experience. It is an ideal escape from the sun for an hour. Perfect for dropping the kids off in the kids club and getting some peace and quiet!

The Beach at Vijitt Resort Rawai

The beach is a small, calm strip of sand. To the right is Rawai Beach and the left over to Chalong. The sea is really shallow and you can walk out a long way with the water only coming up to your knees – a perfect paddling area for kids.

The resort has kayaks and paddle boarding that you can do anytime. They also offer a morning beach walk and afternoon botanical garden walk around the resort. Unfortunately we didn’t get to do these activities as typically there were heavy rain showers at this time.

Just off the beach there are big wire net fish and dolphin rubbish bins. Every morning in between the rain showers we took a walk on the beach and the boys loved finding plastic to ‘feed’ the fish. A great initiative!

Calm seas, soft sand and watersports are definitely a big tick when deciding the best family resort in Rawai Phuket.

The Restaurant at Vijitt Resort Phuket

The restaurant at Vijitt Resort Phuket is right next to the pool and also overlooks the sea in a prime location. It is a traditional Thai style décor with lots of wooden seating and gorgeous wooden beams. There is a small kids area with some toys, books and Jenga which occupied the boys nicely when waiting for food.

Breakfast here is great, our boys are huge breakfast lovers and demand food from the second they open their eyes. There was ample choice with a buffet section of fruit, cereals, hot local and western food and bakery section. As well as this, there is an egg station with eggs any way you like as well as pancakes. Something I particularly liked – egg and cheese or ham and cheese toasties. We hadn’t seen that before and was a welcome addition to the breakfast menu!

We also ate dinner here and there was an extensive menu, we chose Thai (as always!). The waitress was brilliant, asking about our favourite type of food and recommending dishes and also cocktails to us. They were all exactly what we wanted. The yellow fish curry is not for the faint-hearted but we are big spice lovers and this went down a treat, along with the belly pork and pad thai. Delicious. They have a good happy hour for drinks too and the Mai Thai’s here were particularly good.

The Area of Rawai Phuket

Rawai was probably our favourite area when in Phuket. We had heard that it was one of the busiest areas before coming over as there are a lot of expats living in the area and we weren’t disappointed. It has a great atmosphere and we loved the simple bars and restaurants.

When in the area make sure you visit Nai Harn beach, such an incredibly beautiful cove about 15minutes away. Go and watch the sunset at Promthep Cape. Visit Rawai fish market where you choose your fish on one side of the road and cross to a restaurant where they weigh it and cook it however you like – this place is amazing! The Vijitt Resort Phuket offers a shuttle bus to all of these places which is so handy when you are relying on taxis and drivers like us.

Thank you Vijiit Resort for an incredible stay, for Dubai residents like us the calm, green space that you offer is heart-warming. We cannot recommend your beautiful resort highly enough.

A must-stay spot when in Phuket. Definitely the best family resort in Rawai Phuket.
